I don’t know their stories. I’ve just heard some basic
details from people that work with beginning of life or hope dies last. Most of
the girls that live in this safe house have been trafficked in sex slavery…
some of them since their ‘’childhood’’ if we can call it childhood. I do know
that one of them was sold by her mother for a cigarette. But the day I had the
privilege to go there and spend time with those girls I didn’t want to spend a
second thinking of the hell they had been living just some months before. It
was, anyway, difficult to even think of that… just because all I could see, all
I could feel was joy, love, peace, life… and for some of the girls, it was also
a new life with Jesus Christ. I remembered the song that a friend of mine wrote
back in Herrnhut, that said that they were doves forced to be crows. This
afternoon, I just could see beautiful doves, white as snow, daughters and
princesses of the King. And sharing time with them, seeing their faces, I
realized this is not about me… I am just a small part, a little tiny piece of
the puzzle of the Kingdom of God, full of people, full of faces, full of names,
full of stories, and each one of them is important to God…because he is a God
of love and a God of relationship. And I could just thank him for saving these
girls, these beautiful women, and for letting me be, just for an afternoon, a
tiny piece in the puzzle of their life.
No
beginning of life o de hope dies last.
